LaunchX is an independently run youth entrepreneurship organization for high school students aged 14 to 18. Its flagship Entrepreneurship Program runs in two formats: in person in Ann Arbor, Michigan, from June 27 to July 24, 2027, for four weeks; and online from July 5 to August 6, 2027, for five weeks. Teams go from identifying a problem through customer interviews, prototyping, go-to-market work and a fundraising simulation, then pitch to panelists on Demo Day.
LaunchX self-reports an acceptance rate of about 30% for its flagship programs, with an application, review and interview, and does not publish applicant numbers. It charges tuition: $13,495 for the 2027 in-person program (including housing and food) and $7,495 online, with Financial Awards based on family income. Students from outside the US are accepted, and non-US students pay an extra $250 for the in-person program. The final 2027 deadline is March 31, 2027, and the application may close earlier if programs fill.
The LaunchX website does not describe any affiliation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). EDUBUS recommends treating it as a paid program with an interview requirement: for students serious about entrepreneurship, the full team startup experience and Demo Day results can go into the activities list, but taking part does not in itself give an advantage in college admissions.
