ELPAC Intensive

The ELPAC is the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California, taken by students identified as English learners. Newly arrived students usually sit it, and passing moves the student onto the regular English track. Getting to that point is what this intensive is built for.

The goal is two to five months. Because the schedule is built around the individual student, the actual length depends on the level at intake and how much time the family can commit each week. A specific plan is set after the placement assessment. Whether a student sits the assessment, and when, is communicated by the school, and procedures at Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) schools follow each school's own notice.
