Feb12027International Mathematical Modeling Challenge (IMMC)IM²C sits at the top of the global secondary-school modeling ladder, and with only two teams per country advancing to the international round, the scarcity far exceeds that of typical math contests. It tests the ability to turn a vague real-world problem into a computable model and argue it clearly — exactly what engineering, data science and economics programs value. For Irvine students it also opens a differentiated track alongside AMC/AIME, showcasing collaboration, technical writing and modeling judgment rather than raw solving speed.MiddleHighOpen to secondary-school (and younger) students worldwide. Teams have one to four students who must be enrolled at the same school, with one teacher serving as faculty advisor. Each country or region may send up to two teams to the international round. The USA Regional IM²C is by invitation: teams that perform well in the fall HiMCM (high school) or MidMCM (middle school) contests receive an invitation from COMAP, and advisors are typically contacted in February with instructions.
