Catch-Up Windows
Laguna Beach High School has no acceleration route like the summer math bridge courses in the Irvine Unified School District. The district states that high school summer school is only for credit recovery or for repeating a D or F to meet A-G requirements and does not offer courses for acceleration; the Student Handbook also provides that courses taken outside school for acceleration or placement are not recorded on the school’s transcript. Computer Science and Engineering Pathway
Computer science courses at Laguna Beach High School are grouped under Electives and also form the backbone of the Systems Programming pathway in Career Technical Education. AP Computer Science Principles is open to grade 9 students and requires only concurrent enrollment in Algebra 1.
