What to Do Now About the UT Austin Supplemental Materials Deadline

Confirm that official test scores have been sent. UT Austin requires at least one official SAT or ACT score sent directly by the testing agency (SAT code 6882, ACT code 4240), and the official score must arrive by the deadline; after requesting the score report, students may self-report scores in the MyStatus portal. Official Classic Learning Test (CLT) scores also satisfy the requirement; the SAT Essay, ACT Writing, and ACT Science section are not required.

Check MyStatus regularly. MyStatus becomes available 24 to 48 hours after the application is submitted and lists any outstanding items. Transcripts must show all coursework from 9th through 11th grade and class rank; students who do not attend a Texas high school may be asked to complete the Academic Coursework Entry Form.

Decide on optional materials. A resume, up to two letters of recommendation (UT Austin encourages letters from sources outside the high school), and an optional 250-to-300-word short answer on special circumstances may be submitted, and they must also arrive by the deadline. At least one essay and the required short answers are part of the application; writing support is covered by the EDUBUS College Essay Bootcamp, and school selection and round planning by University Admissions Planning. Completing the financial aid application before January 15, 2027, maximizes aid eligibility.
