The California Department of Education released 2025-26 results for the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) on Thursday, October 15, 2026. Across all tested grades (3 through 8 and 11) in the Irvine Unified School District (IUSD), 74.33% of students scored Proficient (Level 3) or Advanced (Level 4) in English language arts and 70.65% did so in mathematics, above both the Orange County and statewide figures. The results pages already use the four renamed achievement levels.

Who Is Affected by the IUSD 2025-26 CAASPP Results

The summary figures on the results website are as follows (share of students at Proficient or Advanced):

Scope ELA, all grades Math, all grades ELA, grade 11 Math, grade 11
Irvine Unified 74.33% 70.65% 72.21% 64.18%
Orange County 59.17% 50.20% 63.43% 41.86%
California 49.26% 38.35% 57.41% 31.92%

Among all IUSD test takers, 45.21% in English language arts and 48.85% in mathematics reached the top level, Advanced. The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) reported the same day that the county’s math rate rose from 49.2% in 2025 to 50.2%, close to the 50.4% recorded in 2019, and that about 46% of county students met the science standard, compared with about 36% statewide. The state also updated the California School Dashboard that day; the statewide four-year graduation rate reached 87.9%, the highest in a decade.

What to Do Now After the IUSD CAASPP Results Release

Read the student’s own score report. District summaries describe only the overall picture. How to read an individual report and what the new level names mean are explained in the EDUBUS brief CAASPP Results Go Public Oct 15 with New Level Names.

Read grade 11 results by purpose, not as a ranking. Grade 11 students who opt into the Early Assessment Program (EAP) have their English and math results sent to the California State University system and participating community colleges, where they are used for course placement only and not for college admission. High school preparation for college still centers on course selection, GPA, and AP results; school-level data are in the IUSD high school guides, and other Orange County public high schools are covered in the Orange County Top 10 Public High Schools Guide.

Look up individual schools. The results website can filter by school, grade, and student group, and it can compare a school with its district and the state.
