Purdue University’s admission pages state that the Early Action deadline for fall 2027 entry is November 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, and that all required materials must be received by that date. The same day is the deadline for merit scholarship consideration and the John Martinson Honors College, and the priority deadline for competitive majors including engineering and computer science. Irvine 12th graders applying in engineering or computing should plan Purdue as part of the November 1 group.

Who Is Affected by the Purdue Early Action Deadline

Twelfth graders applying through the Common App to Purdue’s West Lafayette or Indianapolis locations.

Item Date
Early Action deadline (including scholarships and Honors College) November 1
Early Action decision release January 15, 2027
Regular decision deadline January 15, 2027
Regular decision release By March 31, 2027

Majors with a November 1 priority deadline are first-year engineering in West Lafayette; biomedical, computer, electrical, industrial, mechanical, and motorsports engineering in Indianapolis; computer science; professional flight technology; nursing; and veterinary technology. After November 1, these programs accept applications only if space allows. Purdue states that admission is much more competitive for later applicants.

What to Do Now About the Purdue Early Action Deadline

Submit materials one to two weeks early. Purdue notes that processing can take up to two weeks before submitted materials appear as received in the application portal. The application fee is $60 and nonrefundable.

Check high school coursework. Purdue expects four years of math, four years of English, three years of lab science, three years of social studies, and two years of world language; chemistry experience is expected for engineering applicants. The factors evaluated include grades related to the intended major, the time of year the student applies, and space availability in the program.

Decide on test scores. Purdue accepts the SAT, ACT, and CLT with no preference; for a given test, the highest section scores across test dates may be combined, scores must be from the past five years, and the ACT Science section is not required. The list of evaluation factors describes test scores as considered “if provided.” Score codes are SAT 1631 and ACT 1230.

Major and school selection are covered by EDUBUS University Admissions Planning, and the essay and Purdue questions by the College Essay Bootcamp.
