Scripps College’s admission pages state that the Early Decision I application, interview, and financial aid deadlines are all November 15, with decisions released in mid-December; beginning with the 2027-28 academic year, students from families with a total income of $250,000 or less and typical assets will receive at least $30,000 a year in Scripps grant aid. Irvine 12th graders considering this college in Claremont, California have less than four weeks.

Who Is Affected by the Scripps Early Decision Deadline

The deadline affects high school seniors who indicate female as their legal sex on the application or who self-identify as women, which is the Scripps eligibility rule. The dates for each round are:

Round Application Interview Financial aid Decision Reply by
Early Decision I November 15 November 15 November 15 Mid-December January 15, 2027
Early Decision II January 8, 2027 January 15 January 31 Mid-February February 23
Regular Decision January 8, 2027 January 15 January 31 By April 1 May 1

Early Decision is binding: an admitted student enrolls and withdraws other applications, and Early Decision applicants receive full scholarship and financial aid consideration.

What to Do Now About the Scripps Early Decision Deadline

Assemble the materials. Students apply through the Common Application with a $60 application fee, which can be waived through the Common Application. Scripps also requires the school report and counselor recommendation, two academic teacher recommendations (preferably from junior or senior year classes), and official transcripts from all secondary schools. The interview is optional, and the Early Decision I interview deadline is also November 15.

Decide whether to submit scores. SAT and ACT scores are fully optional, scores are superscored across test dates, and the ACT science section is not required. The deadline for Early Decision I applicants to change their decision about submitting scores is December 4, and self-reported scores are accepted.

Submit the Common Application before any portfolio. Art, music, and dance portfolios are optional and are uploaded through SlideRoom after the Common Application is submitted; the Early Decision I portfolio deadline is November 16.

Submit financial aid materials on the same day. Scripps meets 100% of demonstrated need for admitted students, and aid applicants submit the CSS Profile and the FAFSA. All first-year applicants are automatically considered for scholarships of $15,000 to $30,000 a year, renewable for four years, with no additional forms.

Early rounds and college lists are covered by the EDUBUS college admissions planning service, and the binding rules of each early plan in Early Decision vs. Early Action: Which Are Binding.
