Veritas Classical Academy

Veritas Classical Academy does not use a standardized entrance exam; admission uses an on-campus assessment or visit day.

The school publishes the following application details. The Steps to Enroll page on the school website lists six steps: (1) schedule a free consultation with the Academic Principal; (2) submit the application online through TADS; (3) schedule an assessment with an admissions counselor; (4) interview, having first read Christopher Perrin’s An Introduction to Classical Education; (5) a Student Visit Day, required for grades 5-10, in which the student attends classes for half a day or a full day; and (6) submit administrator, teacher and pastor recommendations. The school website gives no application opening date, no deadline and no application fee amount.

This school does not use a standardized entrance test. It assesses applicants on campus, so preparation centers on the visit day and the parent interview rather than test registration. Application dates are set by the school each year; ask the admissions office for the current calendar and plan backward from it.

Veritas Classical Academy does not publish tuition; ask for current figures when you book a visit.

The Tuition and Fees page on the school website publishes no amounts at all; the entire page consists of a heading, the line “Call now for more information!”, the school’s phone number, 949-557-1311, and an APPLY NOW button. Tuition must be requested by calling the school directly (school website, Tuition and Fees page)

Academics and programs described on the Veritas Classical Academy website include:

• A classical trivium structure in three stages, Grammar, Logic and Rhetoric, with course overview PDFs on the school website for each grade from K through 12 (school website, Grade Level Overview page)
• Latin is a core requirement: the school uses Lingua Latina, Familia Romana, reaching Latin III in grade 9 and Latin IV in grade 10 and reading original texts such as Caesar’s De Bello Gallico; students in grades 8-10 who have never studied Latin must take a zero period Latin class that compresses Latin I and II into a single course to catch up (school website, grade 9 and grade 10 course overview PDFs)
• Math follows an accelerated AP track: AP Calculus AB in grade 11 and AP Calculus AB/BC in grade 12, with students sitting the AP exams in May (school website, grade 11 and grade 12 course overview PDFs)
• Grade 12 uses self-regulating socratic seminar teaching (school website, grade 12 course overview PDF)
• A House Life house system, the Pietas Program for character formation, a Space Program and a uniform policy (school website, House Life, Pietas, Space and Uniform Policy pages)
• Afterschool Child Care is available on campus (school website, After School Care page)
