About LEDA

Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America (LEDA) is a nonprofit that selects scholars each year from public high school juniors across the US. Scholars attend the free Aspects of Leadership Summer Institute the summer after junior year at Princeton University and Yale University, with leadership seminars, small writing classes, SAT/ACT preparation and college guidance; most official pages say it runs five weeks.

LEDA accepts only US citizens or permanent residents with an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above and household income of $90,000 or less. LEDA pays for Summer Institute room, board and travel and for senior-year application and testing fees. Cohort size and admission rates are not published.

LEDA’s results page reports that 94% of Cohort 21 enrolled at a top 100 US college for 2026–27 and 57% were admitted to at least one Ivy League school, MIT or Stanford. Unlike programs that end with the summer, LEDA supports scholars through senior-year applications and on into college.

How to Apply to LEDA

  • The eligibility rules are clear: public high school junior, unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above, household income of $90,000 or less. Check all three first; private school students should email LEDA to confirm.
  • Part I is due December 9, 2026, followed by Part II and March interviews. Aim to finish Part I by the end of November to leave time for the later steps.
  • LEDA looks for commitment to academics, a desire to lead in family, school and community, and its core values of excellence, integrity, compassion and community. Use specific experiences that match these.

Application Support for LEDA

EDUBUS starts with an assessment of grades, competitions and research, then decides which programs to aim for and which to hold as back-ups. We then guide each application form, essay, qualifying problem set and interview, and help turn the summer into part of the college application.
