Two-Year Course Planner for Community College Transfer
The planner assumes fall entry and a transfer to UC two years later in the fall. After a target major and academic calendar are selected, it places course types into the two years based on the prerequisites listed in the UC Transfer Pathways and the Cal-GETC general education structure, and marks the milestones for English and math, TAG submission, and the UC application. The result is only an example; specific course numbers depend on the community college and ASSIST. Students starting in spring should read the spring start guide.
Major preparation courses come from the UC Transfer Pathways listed on the popular majors pages of this site. Individual campuses may require fewer or different courses, so follow what the target campus publishes for the year. Milestones are based on the application cycle UC publishes.

Can the generated plan be used directly for registration?
Not directly. It shows only course types and their order. Specific course numbers must be matched one by one in the community college catalog and on ASSIST, and the target campus’s major requirements for that year take precedence.
Why does the plan include fewer general education courses for STEM majors?
UC notes that students in engineering, biological sciences, physical sciences, and similar majors are encouraged to complete major preparation first, and that Cal-GETC may not suit these high-unit majors. The planner therefore schedules only the general education courses needed for the 7-course pattern for STEM majors and leaves the remaining time for prerequisites.
What is the minimum course load for international students?
F-1 students generally must complete 12 units each semester, or about four courses. Selecting 4 courses per term shows a plan at the minimum load; with fewer courses, some prerequisites may not fit, and summer courses or an extra term may be needed.
Does the planner work for students who start in spring?
