TAG Eligibility Check for Six UC Campuses

TAG (Transfer Admission Guarantee) is offered only at UC Davis, Irvine, Merced, Riverside, Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz. Enter the UC-transferable GPA, choose a target college or major group for each campus, and check the shared criteria already met to see preliminary results for all six campuses. This check compares only GPA thresholds and the conditions checked above; it is not a TAG review decision. Each campus also reviews course completion dates, term grades, and, for some majors, a prerequisite GPA. Rules source: UC TAG matrix (fall 2027 entry).

Frequently Asked Questions

If the check shows a match, is TAG guaranteed?

No. The check compares only the GPA threshold and the shared criteria that were checked. TAG review also considers whether courses are completed on time, whether every term grade is C or higher, and, for some majors, a prerequisite GPA. The campus review is final.

How many campuses can receive a TAG application?

According to UC, TAG offers guaranteed admission to any one of the six participating campuses, and a student may submit to only one of them. The check helps compare all six campuses before deciding where to use TAG.

Is there still time to submit TAG?

The TAG submission period for fall 2027 entry is September 1 to 30, 2026. Students who miss it can still submit the UC application from October 1 to November 30, and UC Merced also offers a spring TAG. Rules for the next cycle follow the new matrix UC publishes at that time.

Why are UCLA, UC Berkeley, and UC San Diego not included?

These three campuses do not participate in TAG. Students aiming for UCLA can look into the priority consideration offered through the UCLA Transfer Alliance Program (TAP).
