The Irvine Valley College (IVC) Transfer Center has scheduled its fall college fair for Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Before then, the Transfer Center is running a series of October workshops and online help sessions on the fall 2027 transfer applications for the University of California (UC) and the California State University (CSU). Transfer applications for both systems close on November 30.

Who is affected

Students planning to transfer from Irvine Valley College to a four-year university for fall 2027, and Irvine high school families considering the path of starting at a community college and then transferring to UC.

The Transfer Center page lists the following events for early October:

Date Event Time Format
Monday, October 5 Application Lab 3:30–5:30 p.m. Zoom only
Wednesday, October 7 Fall 2027 CSU Application Workshop 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. In person
Thursday, October 8 Fall 2027 UC Application Workshop 6–7 p.m. In person
Monday, October 12 Application Lab 3:30–5:30 p.m. Zoom only
Tuesday, October 13 Fall 2027 UC Application Workshop 1–2 p.m. Zoom
Tuesday, October 13 Fall 2027 CSU Application Workshop 3–4 p.m. In person

Additional sessions appear on the Transfer Center calendar. IVC students who RSVP for the fair are entered into a raffle and receive the list of attending university representatives.

The Transfer Center also advises that students who will complete all coursework by the end of spring 2027 should ask a counselor about applying for degrees, awards, or GE Certification (general education certification), with applications accepted from November 2, 2026, to March 15, 2027.

What to do now

Attend a workshop before filling out the forms. The UC and CSU transfer applications are structured differently, so attending the matching workshop for each saves rework. UC transfer requirements and later dates are covered in UC Transfer Filing Period Opens October 1.

Prepare questions before the fair. November 3 falls four weeks before the deadline, which makes it a good time to confirm major preparation requirements with university representatives in person and to compare them with course equivalencies found on ASSIST.

Students finishing in spring should book a counselor appointment. GE Certification affects whether a student must complete additional general education courses after transferring, so it is best to apply soon after the window opens on November 2.

Irvine Valley College transfer data and major pathways are covered in the Irvine Valley College transfer guide; for one-on-one transfer planning, see Community College to UC Transfer.
