The Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) offers two Early Action rounds in the 2026-27 cycle: Early Action 1 closes October 15 and is limited to Georgia students, while Early Action 2 serves out-of-state and international students, closes November 2, 2026, and releases decisions in late January. Irvine students apply as out-of-state applicants and should follow the Early Action 2 dates. Unlike many test-optional universities, Georgia Tech requires every applicant to submit an SAT or ACT score.

Irvine 12th graders planning to apply to Georgia Tech. The dates that apply to out-of-state students are as follows:

| Application deadline | November 2 | January 6, 2027 |
| Document deadline | November 16 | January 22 |

| Decision release | Late January | Mid-March |
| Deposit deadline | May 1 | May 1 |
All deadlines are 11:59 p.m. in the applicant’s time zone. Early Action is non-binding and uses the same review process as Regular Decision; applicants with incomplete Early Action files may complete them and be considered in Regular Decision.
What to Do Now About Georgia Tech Early Action 2
Arrange test scores first. A complete application includes an SAT or ACT score, and Georgia Tech recommends self-reporting in the Common App or the admission portal, with official scores due before enrollment. For the ACT, Georgia Tech uses the highest English, math, and reading scores and does not use science; for the SAT, it uses the highest score in each of the two sections.
Apply Early Action to be considered for scholarships. Merit scholarships such as the Stamps President’s Scholars Program consider only Early Action applicants, and no separate scholarship application is required.
Prepare the transcript. The transcript must list grade 9 through 12 courses and show grade 9 through 11 grades. The application fee is $75, or $85 for international applicants, and eligible students may request a waiver. College-list and application planning are covered by the EDUBUS University Admissions Planning service, and test preparation by Standardized Test Prep.
