The nonprofit Educational Results Partnership has released the 2026 California Honor Roll, and 11 elementary and middle schools in Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) are on the list, along with Arnold O. Beckman High School, which is located in Irvine and belongs to Tustin Unified School District. According to the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE), 245 Orange County schools and 18 districts were recognized. The Honor Roll is in its 12th year, is presented by business and education leaders, and uses student achievement data only.

Who Is Affected by the 2026 California Honor Roll

The list is a reference for families choosing an elementary or middle school or comparing Orange County public high schools. The Irvine honorees are listed below with full school names; Star and Scholar are the program’s categories:

School Level Category
Bonita Canyon Elementary School Elementary Scholar
Canyon View Elementary School Elementary Scholar
Culverdale Elementary School Elementary Star

Northwood Elementary School Elementary Star
Oak Creek Elementary School Elementary Star
Stone Creek Elementary School Elementary Scholar
University Park Elementary School Elementary Star
Vista Verde School Elementary Scholar
Lakeside Middle School Middle Scholar
South Lake Middle School Middle Star
Arnold O. Beckman High School High Star

IUSD high schools and IUSD as a district are not on this year’s list.

How Irvine Families Should Read the 2026 California Honor Roll

Start with the methodology. The list uses only the CAASPP English language arts and mathematics results from 2024 through 2026, and it requires a school, overall and for each student group, to perform above the trendline for similar schools at least 80 percent of the time. Schools where 33 percent or more of students are socioeconomically disadvantaged are in the Star category, and schools below 33 percent are in the Scholar category. Schools with fewer than 100 students are not eligible, and the number of honorees in each category is not set in advance but determined by the results.

Then look at the student’s own data. A school that is not on the list does not necessarily have low scores, because the program requires every student group to stay ahead consistently; families choosing a school should also review each school’s test results and course offerings. For IUSD school results, see IUSD CAASPP results; for Irvine high schools, see the EDUBUS Irvine High School Guide; for Beckman High School and other Orange County public high schools, see the Orange County Top 10 Public High Schools Guide and the Beckman High School Guide.
