Tulane University in New Orleans states on its admission pages that Early Decision (ED) for fall 2027 entry is due November 1 and Early Action (EA) is due November 10, leaving Irvine 12th graders 11 days before the ED deadline. All Tulane deadlines refer to postmark dates, and SAT and ACT scores are optional.

Who Is Affected by the Tulane University Early Deadlines

The deadlines affect current high school seniors who plan to apply to Tulane University for fall 2027 entry. The four rounds are as follows:

Round Application deadline Decision Enrollment deposit deadline
Early Decision November 1 By December 15 January 15
Early Action November 10 By January 10 May 1
Early Decision II January 15 By February 15 March 1
Regular Decision January 15 By April 1 May 1

Early Decision is binding: the applicant, a parent, and the school counselor must all sign the Early Decision Agreement before the application is complete. A student admitted with a financial aid offer that meets the need calculated by Tulane must pay a non-refundable $1,000 deposit and withdraw all other applications. Early Action is not binding, and an application that is not admitted in Early Action may be deferred for reconsideration in Regular Decision.

What Tulane University Applicants Should Do Now

Plan testing and materials by round. Tulane University advises Early Decision and Early Action applicants to take the SAT or ACT by October, and scores are optional. Students apply through the Common App with the activities list and personal statement, the high school transcript, and the Secondary School Report with the counselor recommendation. Tulane University does not require teacher recommendations but will review additional ones.

Families seeking aid should note the financial aid deadlines. Early Decision applicants submit the CSS Profile and the FAFSA by November 15, and Early Action applicants by December 15. Some scholarships require a separate application submitted through the applicant portal, and some of those are due in December, which may rule out Regular Decision applicants.
