In the 2026-27 SAT schedule published by College Board, Irvine families have two usable test dates left this fall: November 7 and December 5. Regular registration for these two tests closes on October 23 and November 20, respectively, and each is followed by a four-day late registration window. All deadlines fall at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the day listed. Registration for the October 3 test closed on September 22.

Deadlines in the next two months

Item Test or submission date Regular deadline Late deadline
SAT November 7, 2026 October 23 October 27
SAT December 5, 2026 November 20 November 24
AP fall exam ordering May 2027 exams November 13 $40 late fee per exam

The spring 2027 SAT dates are March 6, May 1, and June 5, with registration deadlines of February 19, April 16, and May 21, respectively.

Who is affected

12th graders: November 7 is the last SAT that still fits before most early application deadlines. Students who plan to send scores from this test should not put off registration past October 23.

11th graders: December 5 is a suitable date for a first official attempt. Working backward from that date, structured test preparation should begin in October, not one month before the test.

Students taking AP courses: The November 13 ordering deadline falls less than three weeks after SAT registration closes, and the two tasks can easily compete for attention. Each high school’s internal confirmation date is usually earlier; follow the notice from the school’s AP coordinator.

What to do now

First confirm whether target schools accept superscoring and whether they require all scores to be sent, then decide whether to take this test and whether to send the scores afterward. For planning the number of attempts and the preparation cycle, see SAT Grammar & Reading Seminar and Digital SAT Prep. For what needs to be settled before AP ordering in November, see the AP offerings for each school in the IUSD high school guides.
