Each year from early June to mid-August, the Irvine campus runs five two-week academic camp sessions. Classes are half-day, with 6 to 8 students, and are grouped by the grade the student will attend in fall 2026. The two-week design is meant to fit around family travel and other camps. Parents can choose just one or two sessions, or enroll in several in a row to form a complete summer plan.

Summer Academic Camp Groups and Courses

  • G1–G2: Bookworm Detectives (early reading), Little Logic Monsters.
  • G3–G5: Singapore Math G5, speech and debate, reading club, academic writing.
  • G6–G8: speech and debate, reading club, academic writing, Math G7 Bridge / Singapore Math G6.

Summer Academic Camps: How to Use the Two Summer Months

Summer break in US school districts lasts about ten weeks. During this time, students’ English reading volume and math fluency diverge noticeably. The camps are designed so that each session produces a visible result, rather than simply providing supervision. The reading club completes close reading and discussion of one or two books. Academic writing produces one or two finished pieces. Each math course completes a clearly defined content module.

For most families, we suggest setting priorities in this order. First, schedule the bridge courses needed in the fall, such as Math G7 Bridge before entering Enhanced Math. Next, schedule English reading and writing. Last, schedule interest-based courses.

Summer Academic Camp Full-Day Benefits

Families enrolling for a full day can choose one of two options: extended care (from 8:30 a.m., and until as late as 5:30 p.m.) or free lunch with midday supervision. Dual-income families usually choose a full-day schedule, with one course in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Other Summer Programs Beyond the Summer Academic Camps

Summer also includes the APAAS Summer Sprint (preparation for gifted program selection for students moving from grade 2 to grade 3), the ISEE Boot Camp (private school admission), AMC intensives (math competitions), the SAT Boot Camp (standardized testing), and AP Summer Pre-study (high school courses studied in advance). Details of the math module are on the Singapore Math & Math Bridge page.

How to Start Summer Academic Camps at EDUBUS

Summer Academic Camps: Frequently Asked Questions

How many sessions are there, and when?

Five two-week sessions run from early June to mid August in Irvine, on half-day schedules. Classes hold 6 to 8 students, and children are grouped by the grade they will enter in fall 2026 rather than the grade they have just finished.

How are Irvine camp groups divided?

Into three, each with its own courses. G1–G2 has Bookworm Detectives reading and Little Logic Monsters. G3–G5 has Singapore Math G5, speech and debate, reading club, and academic writing. G6–G8 has speech and debate, reading club, academic writing, and G7 Math Bridge or Singapore Math G6.

What does full-day enrollment include for Irvine families?

One of two options: extended care, or free lunch with midday supervision. Families choose between them at the time of enrollment, and the two are not combined. Camp classes themselves run on half-day schedules, so the choice applies to families staying the full day.

Which math classes are offered?

Singapore Math G5 for grades 3 to 5, G7 Math Bridge or Singapore Math G6 for grades 6 to 8, and Little Logic Monsters for the youngest group. All of them are described on the Singapore Math and Math Bridge page.

Do Irvine families have other summer options?

Alongside the academic camps there are the APAAS sprint, ISEE boot camps, AMC intensives, the SAT boot camp, and AP pre-study. These run on their own calendars and can be scheduled together with camp sessions across the June to August window.
