Villanova University has posted its deadlines: Early Action and Early Decision I both close on November 1, as do financial aid materials, and students who applied Early Action can switch to Early Decision I until November 10. Irvine seniors have two days until the deadline, and test scores reported by November 10 will also be considered in the early rounds.

Who Is Affected by the Villanova Early Deadlines

The deadlines apply to seniors planning to apply to Villanova University. The admissions page lists four rounds:

Round Application and financial aid deadline Decision Binding
Early Action November 1 By January 20 No
Early Decision I November 1 By December 1 Yes
Early Decision II January 15 By February 15 Yes
Regular Decision January 15 By April 1 No

Early Action and Early Decision I applicants receive one of three decisions: admit, deny or defer. A student admitted through Early Decision must enroll and withdraw other applications, and the enrollment deposit is due within two weeks of admission. For U.S. citizens and permanent residents, admission review is need-blind.

What to Do Now About Villanova Plan Changes and Materials

Settle on a round. The deadline to switch from Early Action to Early Decision I is November 10; deferred Early Action applicants and Regular Decision applicants may switch to Early Decision II until January 31. A switch requires an email with a completed Early Decision Agreement Form.

Complete the activities section. Villanova asks applicants to fill out the Common App or Coalition activities section completely, because resumes and accomplishment lists cannot be added after submission. The application fee is $80, and waivers are available. Applicants submit a secondary school report completed by the counselor, a transcript starting in grade 9 and one teacher recommendation; a counselor recommendation is optional. Villanova does not interview applicants and does not consider demonstrated interest.

Decide whether to submit test scores. Testing is optional for fall 2027 entry, and SAT and ACT scores are superscored; scores reported by November 10 are considered in the early rounds. Applicants receive instructions for setting up the Applicant Status Page within 48 hours of submission.
