Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, has posted its 2026–27 deadlines: Early Decision I closes on November 15, with decisions by mid-December. Trinity charges no Common App fee, and its only supplemental essay is an optional prompt of under 300 words. Irvine seniors who consider Trinity their first choice have less than two weeks to prepare.

Who Is Affected by the Trinity College Early Decision Deadline

The deadline applies to seniors considering Trinity College and deciding which round to use. The admissions and financial aid pages list these dates:

Round Application deadline Decision
Early Decision I November 15 Mid-December
Early Decision II January 15 Mid-February
Regular Decision January 15 Late March

Both Early Decision rounds require a signed agreement to attend if admitted. Students can submit the agreement through the Common App or email the signed agreement to the admissions office by the deadline. Regular Decision applicants may switch to Early Decision II by submitting a signed agreement by February 1.

What to Do Now About the Trinity College Application

Confirm the required materials. Trinity requires the Common App, an official transcript for grades 9 through 11, the school report with current course grades and one academic recommendation, which may come from a school counselor, a teacher or a community-based organization. International applicants also submit results from the Duolingo English Test, IELTS or TOEFL.

Decide whether to write the optional essay. The prompt asks students to describe an aspect of their background and why they want to share or explore it as part of the Trinity community, in under 300 words. The essay is not required, but it is the only place in the application to explain a connection to Trinity.

Submit financial aid forms on time. Early Decision I applicants seeking need-based aid face the same November 15 deadline, and aid awards are sent in mid-December. Trinity requires the CSS Profile (school code 3899) and the FAFSA (school code 001414).

Review the optional components. Trinity is test-optional, and all applicants are considered for merit scholarships whether or not they submit scores. Interviews are not required but are strongly recommended, and students with strong arts backgrounds may submit portfolio materials.
