Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, lists November 15 as the application and financial aid deadline for both Early Decision I and Early Action, and starting with the class of 2031, students admitted through Early Decision receive a guaranteed scholarship of at least $20,000 per year. Irvine seniors have 8 days until the deadline.

Who Is Affected by the Dickinson College November 15 Deadline

Dickinson College accepts the Common App or the Coalition Application (powered by Scoir). The rounds are as follows:

Round Application and aid deadline Decision Enrollment deposit
Early Decision I November 15 Mid-December Two to three weeks after admission
Early Action November 15 Mid-January May 1
Early Decision II January 15 Late February Two to three weeks after admission
Regular Decision January 15 Late March May 1

Regular Decision applicants can switch to Early Decision II by submitting the Early Decision Agreement no later than January 28. There is no spring 2027 first-year admission cycle.

Starting with the class of 2031, students admitted through Early Decision receive four benefits: a guaranteed scholarship of at least $20,000 per year (a minimum guarantee that is not added on top of other merit or need-based aid), priority selection of a First-Year Seminar, early career advising, and permission to bring a car to campus in the first year. The college states that about half of each incoming class enrolls through Early Decision.

What Dickinson College Applicants Should Do Now

Confirm the binding commitment and the aid plan first. The Early Decision Agreement is signed by the student, a parent or guardian, and the school counselor, and an admitted student must enroll and withdraw all other applications. The college meets 100% of demonstrated need, and students from families earning $75,000 or less can graduate without loans under the Dickinson Promise. Students considering Early Decision can request an early aid estimate. Institutional need-based aid requires the CSS Profile, and federal and state aid requires the FAFSA; both are due by the application deadline, and the college notes that its aid is awarded on a funds-available basis.

Prepare the application materials. Applicants submit an application essay, transcripts, a counselor recommendation and school report, and one recommendation from a core-subject teacher (two are recommended); first-term senior grades are required before decisions are released. Dickinson has been test optional since 1994. Interviews are not required but are valued by the college, are offered virtually or in person, and can take place up to the deadline of the chosen round.

Use the optional materials well. Art, music, and theatre materials can be submitted through SlideRoom, and Schoolhouse.world mastery certifications can be uploaded to the applicant portal after the application is submitted.
