In the 2027 AP calendar published by College Board, four groups of subjects draw part of the score not from the May written exam but from work or tasks submitted online. These deadlines fall before exam weeks, and a missed submission cannot be made up.

For comparison, the 2027 exam weeks are May 3–7 and May 10–14, and late testing runs May 17–21.
Who Is Affected by the 2027 AP performance task deadlines
Students taking courses in these four subject groups: This part of the score is locked in at the end of April, and the May written exam cannot make up for it.
Students taking several AP courses at once: March and April are also the season for spring standardized tests and school midterms, and the submission deadlines overlap with those commitments.
What to Do Now About the 2027 AP performance task deadlines
Work backward from each deadline on the calendar. An April 30 submission means reaching the final-draft stage in March, not starting in late April.
Students in AP Computer Science Principles should take particular note. College Board requires at least 9 class hours to complete the Create task, so starting close to the deadline leaves too little time. The course description is at AP Computer Science Principles.
Plan alongside the exam ordering deadlines. For 2026-27, the final fall ordering deadline is November 13, with an additional $40 per exam for late orders; the ordering deadline for spring courses is March 12, 2027.
